BLINKS W

From ‘Blinks’ as an integrated circuit to Digital Labyrinth
then
From visual feedbacks to circulating actions

Dear all,

We are very pleased to notify you of Noboru Owada’s solo exhibition at Art Lab Akiba from 30th November to 12th December and the other good news is that Taisuke Morishita who has been Owada’s closest friend over 30 years is curating this show.
As the title of ‘Blinks’ indicating, since the first ‘Blinks’ in 2009, his first solo show under the title, Owada has consistently been working on the theme of ‘perception’ and ‘vision’ to exhibit his excellent photos and moving images but in this show he is concentrating on ‘seeing’ as the main theme and showing an installation as an automatic self-referential device in the gallery space.
I guess there would be a strong connection between his works and ‘The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Even’ by Marcel Duchamp and works by James Joyce and Raymond Roussel, which have been his favorite since he was a high school student. But for himself, this thought experiment looking like idealistic for others is his own matter and he is eagerly trying to get to the certain results from that.
I hope you will come and be intrigued by his experiment at our laboratory, Art Lab Akiba.
